Project Description:

This software supports real time business application and has been developed on Smart Client architecture which is in fact web services that transfers data using XML (extensible mark up language). Smart clients are easily deployed and managed client applications that provide an adaptive, responsive and rich interactive experience by leveraging local resources and intelligently connecting to distributed data sources.

This application is like an ERP solution as it has the scope of containing various modules like Accounting, Customer Relationship Manager (CRM), Inventory,Human Resource Management, etc.

Featuring the functionality of smart client architecture, this particular application enables a simultaneous online and offline communication facility to the user whereby he can fetch data online from a remote server using web services and at the same time work offline on a client machine.

Aim of the Project:

The main purpose of designing this application is to develop a complete business solution i.e. an ERP application having all the functionalities of a smart client application as well as allow the user to work both online and offline at the same point of time. This allows the user to access the database saved on a remote server, fetch data from it through web services (online) and then use the data while working on a client machine (offline).

Challenges:

Besides using new technology it was also necessary to have a lot of domain knowledge and expertise to ensure smooth process flow and seamless integration of all the modules.
